An Investigation of West Nile Virus Infection in Local Wild Birds Species

چکیده
The transmission of West Nile Virus (WNV) to new locations is mostly facilitated by migratory birds. Türkiye's domestic ducks, geese, and chickens have already tested positive for WNV serology. This study was conducted identify the seroprevalence in wild bird species because birds Western Mediterranean Region are found along migration routes from Africa Europe, they home a wide variety due abundance lakes wetlands, mild climate, some areas that suitable habitat mosquitoes their low altitude. Serum samples were taken 141 Isparta (66), Burdur (42), Antalya (33) this on wild. During serological studies, there no evidence WNV-specific antibodies.

West Nile Virus Infection of Birds, Mexico
West Nile virus (WNV) has caused disease in humans, equids, and birds at lower frequency in Mexico than in the United States. We hypothesized that the seemingly reduced virulence in Mexico was caused by attenuation of the Tabasco strain from southeastern Mexico, resulting in lower viremia than that caused by the Tecate strain from the more northern location of Baja California. During 2006-2008,...

Wild bird carcasses were collected through passive monitoring of wild bird mortality. In necropsy, brain samples were taken from dead wild birds in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Samples were used for detection of West Nile virus by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). No WNV nucleic acid was detected by RT-PCR. In the light of the data presented there is no evidence of wild bird mor...
متن کاملWest Nile Virus Antibodies in Wild Birds, Morocco, 2008
To determine circulation of West Nile virus (WNV) during nonepidemic times, we serosurveyed wild birds of Morocco in 2008. We found antibodies against WNV in 12 (3.5%) birds, against Usutu virus in 1 (0.3%), and against both in 2 (0.6%). High WNV prevalence among juvenile birds suggests local virus circulation among resident birds.
متن کاملExperimental Infections of Wild Birds with West Nile Virus
Avian models of West Nile virus (WNV) disease have become pivotal in the study of infection pathogenesis and transmission, despite the intrinsic constraints that represents this type of experimental research that needs to be conducted in biosecurity level 3 (BSL3) facilities. This review summarizes the main achievements of WNV experimental research carried out in wild birds, highlighting advant...
متن کاملSeroconversion in Wild Birds and Local Circulation of West Nile Virus, Spain
A serosurvey for neutralizing antibodies against West Nile virus (WNV) in common coots (Fulica atra) was conducted in Doñana, Spain. Antibody prevalence was highest in 2003, intermediate in 2004, and lowest in 2005. Some birds seroreverted <1 year after first capture. Seroconversion of birds suggests local circulation of the virus.
